December 2nd, 2019 (Monday)
Kãrtika month is considered as the auspicious month to destroy sins.
According to Skanda Puranam and other epics, observing Kãrtika Somavãra Vratam sincerely and worshiping Šri Šiva as Lord Someshwara – who wears soma (moon) crescent on His head – brings His blessings to achieve one’s wishes in this life, enjoy happiness in this world and eventually reach eternal happiness of Moksha (Salvation).
At our Temple, Kãrtika Somavãra poojas are performed in the morning and also in the evening.
From 8 a.m. on the day of Kãrtika Somavãram, 108 Šankha Sthãpanam and Homam are performed with utmost devotion. The evening special poojas begin at 4 p.m. with Mahãnyãsam Ekãdašavãra Rudrãbhishekam, 108 Šankha Abhishekam for Šri Šiva, Trišati Nãma Pooja and Hãrati.
