Due to the COVID19 pandemic situation, our Temple is offering Virtual Swarna Gowri Vratam Online to perform from home during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Šri Swarna Gowri Vrata or Gowri Habba or Hartãlika Teej is dedicated to Goddess Šri Gowri, an incarnation of Šri Pãrvati. This vrata is observed on Hindu calendar Bhãdrapada month’s growing lunar phase third day (Šukla Tritiya), or generally a day before Ganesh Chaturthi. It is observed by women praying goddess Šri Pãrvati to seek Her blessings for a happy and fruitful life.
The Virtual Swarna Gowri Vratam Online will be conducted using Zoom Meeting as follows:
Date: September 9, 2021 (Thursday) – at 9:00 am (EST)
Fee: $31.00 per participant
Prior registration is required to participate. Scroll below and click ‘add to cart’ option.
Zoom meeting ID and password will be emailed to registered participants on September 8, 2021 (Wednesday).

Last date for thread pickup:
September 7, 2021 (Tuesday) – Devotees who require Granti / Raksha / Sacred thread must come to pick up from the Temple counter or make their own arrangement to acquire the same locally.
Last date for registration to participate:
September 8, 2021 (Wednesday) – at 5:00 pm – No registrations will be allowed after this, no exceptions!
Internet and Computer Requirements:
This is an online program and therefore, you’ll be required to have a reliable Internet connection and a suitable device such as a PC, laptop or tablet. Cell phones may not be suitable to take this program. The Pooja will be offered via Zoom Meeting.

Also, please prepare for the Vrata Pooja as detailed below. The participants may not be able to ask questions during the online Vrata Pooja.
Preparing for Virtual Swarna Gowri Vratam
Prepare yourself before commencement of pooja:
Please login to Zoom meeting at 8:45 a.m. on September 9, 2021 (Thursday) and wait to be admitted into the meeting. This may take up to 10 minutes!
Since there is only one virtual session, please login on time. The Virtual Vrata Pooja will start at 9:00 a.m. for those who have already logged in.
Total time duration for ritual is approximately 40 minutes.
The Virtual Swarna Gowri Vratam will be conducted by our Temple Priest and assisted by a Technical Admin.
How to participate in Virtual Swarna Gowri Vratam?
It is advised that participant have full shower in the morning.
As per one’s family tradition, wear a neatly washed cotton or silk saree or appropriate dress.
Keep the following items ready:
- silver/brass or copper plate
- panchapatram / cup with uddharani / spoon – fill with clean water
- Akshata (raw rice) or Kumkum (sufficient quantity for 1008 Nãmãvali)
- Flowers, incense sticks and harati
- Any offering / naivedyam – fruits or dry fruits, home-cooked food or sweets
- Granti / Raksha / Sacred (Devotees who require Granti / Raksha / Sacred thread must come to the Temple to pick up or make their own arrangement to acquire the same locally).

Light a lamp or candle and place it appropriately in the altar/pooja mantap.
Sit comfortably on the floor and keep your laptop or computer monitor in front of you with adequate audio level. (Try to play some music and check the audio levels BEFORE logging into the meeting!)
If you have difficulties sitting on the floor, you may sit on a raised seat or a chair.
