Due to the COVID19 pandemic situation, our Temple is offering Virtual Sri Mrithigai Ganapati Pooja Online to perform from home during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Šri Mrithigai Ganapati Vrata Pooja is dedicated to Lord Šri Ganesh / Ganapati / Vinãyaka.  This vrata is observed on Hindu calendar Bhãdrapada month’s growing lunar phase forth day (Šukla chaturthi), or generally on the day known as Ganesh Chaturthi Day. It is observed by all devotees praying Lord Šri Ganapati to seek His blessings to clear obstacles and for a happy and fruitful life. .

The Virtual Sri Mrithigai Ganapati Pooja Online will be conducted using Zoom Meeting as follows:

Date: August 22, 2020 (Saturday) – at 9:00 am (EST) 
Fee: $31.00 per participant 

Prior registration is required to participate. Scroll below and click ‘add to cart’ option.

Zoom meeting ID and password will be emailed to registered participants on August 21, 2020 (Friday).

Internet and Computer Requirements:

This is an online program and therefore, you’ll be required to have a reliable Internet connection and a suitable device such as a PC, laptop or tablet. Cell phones may not be suitable to take this program. The Pooja will be offered via Zoom Meeting.

Also, please prepare for the Pooja as detailed below. The participants may not be able to ask questions during the online Pooja.

Preparing for Virtual Sri Mrithigai Ganapati Pooja

Prepare yourself before commencement of pooja:

Please login to Zoom meeting at 8:45 a.m. on August 22, 2020 (Saturday) and wait to be admitted into the meeting. This may take up to 10 minutes!

Since there is only one virtual session, please login on time. The Virtual Pooja will start at 9:00 a.m. for those who have already logged in.

Total time duration for ritual is approximately 25 minutes.

The Virtual Sri Mrithigai Ganapati Pooja will be conducted by our Temple Priest and assisted by a Technical Admin.

How to participate in Virtual Sri Mrithigai Ganapati Pooja?

It is advised that participant have full shower in the morning.

As per one’s family tradition, wear a neatly washed cotton or silk dress.
Wear the Basma / vibhuti / kumkum / chandan according to one’s family tradition and practices

Keep the following items ready:

  • Ganesa picture or vigraha
  • silver/brass/copper/stainless steel plate
  • panchapatram / cup with uddharani / spoon – fill with clean water
  • Akshata (raw rice)
  • Flowers, incense sticks and harati
  • Any offering / naivedyam – fruits or dry fruits, home-cooked food or sweets
  • wooden plank/seat

Light a lamp or candle and place it appropriately in the altar/pooja mantap.

Sit comfortably on the floor and keep your laptop or computer monitor in front of you with adequate audio level. (Try to play some music and check the audio levels BEFORE logging into the meeting!)

If you have difficulties sitting on the floor, you may sit on a raised seat or a chair.
