Due to the COVID19 pandemic situation, our Temple is offering Virtual Ganapati Pooja by Children Online to perform from home during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

It has become the tradition of the Temple to encourage children to participate in both the japa and the pooja. This encourages them to not only get involved in the Temple activities, but develop devotion, and an understanding and liking for rituals. This ensures the continuation of our religious culture and traditions.

The Virtual Ganapati Pooja by Children Online will be conducted using Zoom Meeting as follows:

Date: August 22, 2020 (Saturday) – at 5:00 p.m. (EST) 
Fee: $25.00 per child 

Prior registration is required to participate. Scroll below and click ‘add to cart’ option.

Zoom meeting ID and password will be emailed to registered participants on August 21, 2020 (Friday).

Last date for pooja items pickup:

August 21, 2020 (Friday) – Parents who wish to pick up Ganesa picture and notebook (with pencil) may come to the Temple or make their own arrangement to acquire the same locally.

Last date for registration to participate:

August 21, 2020 (Friday) – at 5:00 pm – No registrations will be allowed after this, no exceptions!

Internet and Computer Requirements:

This is an online program and therefore, you’ll be required to have a reliable Internet connection and a suitable device such as a PC, laptop or tablet. Cell phones may not be suitable to take this program. The pooja will be offered via Zoom Meeting.

Also, please prepare for the Pooja as detailed below. The participants may not be able to ask questions during the online Pooja.

Preparing for Virtual Ganapati Pooja by Children

Prepare yourself before commencement of pooja:

Parents should help in preparing their child before commencement of Pooja and monitor them till the end of pooja

Please login to Zoom meeting at 4:45 p.m. on August 22, 2020 (Saturday) and wait to be admitted into the meeting. This may take up to 10 minutes!

Since there is only one virtual session, please login on time. The Virtual Pooja will start at 5:00 p.m. for those who have already logged in.

Total time duration for ritual is approximately 20 minutes.

The Virtual Ganapati Pooja by Children will be conducted by our Temple Priest and assisted by a Technical Admin.

How to participate in Virtual Ganapati Pooja by Children?

Parents who wish to pick up Ganesa picture and notebook (with pencil) may come to the Temple no later than August 21, 2020 (Friday)

As per one’s family tradition, wear a neatly washed cotton or silk dress.

Keep the following items ready:

  • Ganesa picture or vigraha
  • A ruled notebook and pencil or pen
  • (Parents may pick up the two items above from the Temple Counter)
  • Plate
  • Akshata (raw rice)
  • Any offering / naivedyam – fruits or dry fruits.

Sit comfortably on the floor and keep your laptop or computer monitor in front of you with adequate audio level. (Try to play some music and check the audio levels BEFORE logging into the meeting!)

If you have difficulties sitting on the floor, you may sit on a raised seat or a chair.

Religious ritual – step by step procedures:

Please follow the instructions that will be given while Pooja is live streamed from the temple.

3. Prayer to Sri Maha Ganapati
4. Ashtottara Sata Nama Archana
5. Upachara (honoring)
6. Offer of Naivedyam (food offering)
7. Harati
8.Commencement of Vidya (studies), pray Lord Ganesh, Goddess Saraswati & Guru (teacher). Parents to guide children in writing following names of the God (at least three times each):
