Due to the COVID19 pandemic situation, our Temple is offering Virtual Šri Durga Deepa Namaskãram Pooja Online to perform from home during Šri Devi Navãratri Mahotsavam.
Šri Durga Deepa Namaskãra Pooja is performed by placing a big lamp in the center of the Mandala. Šri Durga is invoked in the lamp through Nyãsa pooja using Her bheeja mantrãs. The Pooja will commence with Ganapati prãrthana, followed by invoking of Šri Durga in the Mandala & Deepa with bheeja mantras, chanting of Sahasranãma & Ashtottara and finally sashtãnga namaskaras while chanting the salutations mantra from Devi Mahatmiyam.
The Virtual Šri Durga Deepa Namaskãram Online will be conducted using Zoom Meeting as follows:

Zoom meeting ID and password will be emailed to registered participants on October 22, 2020 (Thursday).

Internet and Computer Requirements:
This is an online program and therefore, you’ll be required to have a reliable Internet connection and a suitable device such as a PC, laptop or tablet. Cell phones may not be suitable to take this program. The pooja will be offered via Zoom Meeting.

Also, please prepare for the pooja as detailed below. The participants may not be able to ask questions during the online pooja.
Preparing for Virtual Šri Durga Deepa Namaskãram
Prepare yourself before commencement :
Please login to Zoom meeting at 5:00 p.m. on October 23, 2020 (Friday) and wait to be admitted into the meeting. This may take up to 10 minutes!
Since there is only one virtual session, please login on time. The Virtual Šri Durga Deepa Namaskãram will start at 5:15 p.m. (EST) for those who have already logged in.
Total time duration for ritual is approximately 1 hour.
The Virtual Šri Durga Deepa Namaskãram will be conducted by our Temple Priest and assisted by a Technical Admin.
How to participate in Virtual Šri Durga Deepa Namaskãram ?
As per one’s family tradition, wear a neatly washed cotton or silk dress.
Keep the following items ready:
- Silver, Brass, Copper, Stainless Steel Plate
- Panchapatram (cup) with Uddharani (spoon) – filled with clean water
- Akshata (raw rice) or Kumkum (sufficient quantity for 1008 Nãmãvali)
- Flowers, incense stick and harati
- Light a Lamp or Candle and place appropriately on the altar / pooja mantap
- Any offering / naivedyam – fruits / dry fruits, home cooked food or sweets
Sit comfortably on the floor and keep your laptop or computer monitor in front of you with adequate audio level. (Try to play some music and check the audio levels BEFORE logging into the meeting!)
If you have difficulties sitting on the floor, you may sit on a raised seat or a chair.
